Tekran® Model 2600-NG

The Tekran® Model 2600-NG Mercury Analyzer is designed for the analysis of gas phase sample cartridges. The system contains an atomic fluorescence detector, a dual stage thermal desorber and a data acquisition and control system. A single serial connection allows a Windows based PC to control the entire analysis process, acquire the detector output and calculate final results.

On-Site Mercury Sampling Services:

Tekran’s on-site sampling services can support a wide array of activities, including geophysical exploration, production, engineering, refining, testing, inspection, certification of measurement equipment, quality control, and corrosion research in the hydrocarbon industry. The Tekran Model 2641 Portable Mercury Sampler, paired with a Tekran Model 2600-NG Mercury Analyzer, provides a complete sampling and analysis solution.

The pressure letdown step can result in cold spots due to Joule-Thomson cooling, further increasing mercury losses during transport. The design of the Tekran 2641 Sampler eliminates this challenge. The grab sampler incorporates a unique design to safely collect the mercury atoms at line pressure, eliminating the need for a regulated pressure letdown system. The gold-coated quartz sampling traps are housed in a patented pressurized housing that equalizes pressure over all trap surfaces.

Using our state-of-the-art Portable Mercury Sampler and supported by a team of specialized analysts in Toronto, Tekran can collect natural gas samples on site, as required. Our chemists can suggest appropriate methods, recommend sampling strategies, and interpret data.

This service includes sampling media preparation, sample shipping, analysis, and reporting:

  • Gold Trap Preparation: Blank, check, prepare, and assemble gold-quartz traps for natural gas sampling.
  • Gold Trap Sample Collection: Multiple points in the plant using the portable Tekran 2641 Sampler at line pressure.
  • Gold Trap Analysis: After shipping the gold trap samples back to Tekran’s Toronto factory, we will analyze the field gold trap samples using the Tekran Model 2600-NG. Includes multi-point calibration and QA using Tekran Model 2505 Elemental Mercury Primary Calibration Source.
  • Analysis Report: Prepare full report with documentation of analytical results and QA. Narrate and participate in report conference call.
  • Field Sampling Plan: Tekran Chemists review and advise on mercury field sampling plan, as needed.
