The Tekran MerPAS Sampler has been awarded the Governor General’s Innovation Award given to technologies demonstrating entrepreneurial technologies with transformative, positive impact for Canadian society. The Tekran MerPAS sampler is a novel power-free sampling technology for determination of elemental mercury concentrations in ambient air. The unique design allow the sampler to be deployed in remote areas, and is also a useful monitoring tool for programs with limited funding or without the infrastructure necessary for active monitoring.
